Potential homeowners must meet three criteria:

• You must have the need for adequate shelter
• You must be able to pay the no-interest mortgage
• You must be willing to develop a partnership with Habitat and complete at least 200 hours of “sweat equity” and complete 12 homeowner-in-progress classes

To receive an application for homeownership, all prospective home owners must attend a one hour orientation meeting. To find out if you income qualify for our program, please print our information brochure and return the Applicant Information section to HFHYC, 1034 Charlotte Ave, Rock Hill, SC 29732. You may also download our current income guidelines.If you income qualify, you will be entered into a database to receive notice of our next meeting.

“Sweat Equity” is the homeowners down payment. It also increases the personal stake of each family member in their home. There is a strong sense of empowerment in knowing that the home in not a handout or a gift, but rather something they have earned themselves with the help of a team of caring friends, family, and others from the community.
