When you donate new or gently-used items to a Habitat ReStore, you’re making affordable homeownership a reality, and you’re also keeping perfectly usable items from needlessly going to waste in a landfill. Matching Gifts

Many employers will match tax-deductible charitable contributions made by their employees, retirees and employees’ spouses. Contact your company’s HR department for specific matching gift options. If you have completed a matching gift form, please include it with your gift to Habitat of York County at the mailing address, e-mail the form to or fax the form to 803.327.5522.

Habitat of York County provides donor opportunities to make honorarium and memorial gifts and will send a notification letter to the individual of your choice. You may indicate Honor or Memorial Gifts on your donation form.

Construction In-Kind Donations

Donations of new building materials can be made to Habitat of York County construction initiatives. Donations can also be made to Habitat of York County in the form of professional services required on construction sites, such as masonry, HVAC installation, electrical wiring, plumbing and more.

Pro bono services can be offered by local donors. Lawyers, accountants, graphic designers, interior designers and financial counselors are just a few of those who have contributed their time and resources to help further Habitat of York County’s mission.

Vehicle donations are another way to support Habitat of York County’s mission!  It’s quick and easy to donate your old car, truck, boat, motorcycle and more – whether they run or not!  Vehicle donations may be eligible for tax deduction if you itemize (consult a tax advisor or the IRS).

Legacy/Planned Gifts

Make a lasting difference through a legacy (planned) gift to Habitat for Humanity of York County.  To help you get started on your plans and legacy, we have partnered with FreeWill to remove the stress from planned giving. FreeWill is an online tool that guides you through the process of creating a legally valid will or trust. It’s easy to use, accessible online and can be completed in 20 minutes. You can use this resource on its own or use it to document your wishes before finalizing your plans with an attorney. And once you do, you will be a member of our Legacy Society, a group dedicated to improving lives both today and tomorrow.

Give From Your IRA

If you are 70.5 or older and have a traditional IRA, you can use this secure online tool to make a donation from your IRA account. IRA gifts are generally not recognized as taxable income and if you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) this year, giving from your IRA is a compassionate way to fulfill it. Donor-Advised Funds

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are investment accounts for the sole purpose of supporting charitable organizations. If you have a DAF, you can use FreeWill’s DAF tool.
