Our Access. Dignity. Ability. Build  represents Habitat for Humanity of York County’s commitment to creating homes that reflect the diverse needs of the families we serve. As our first fully accessible home, this project is intentionally designed to remove barriers, promote independence, and demonstrate what inclusive housing can look like within our community.

This home will become the foundation of the Neal family’s homeownership journey, but its impact reaches far beyond a single address. It serves as a model for how thoughtful design, intentional partnerships, and community investment can create spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered.

When Women Build, Communities Grow Stronger

Women Build is a celebration of what happens when women come together with purpose, passion, and a shared commitment to their community.

Each year, women from every background step onto the build site to lead, encourage, learn, and serve alongside one another. They bring their unique gifts, experiences, and perspectives, demonstrating that building stronger communities extends far beyond construction.

While women remain at the heart of this initiative, everyone is invited to be part of the movement. Whether you volunteer, sponsor, donate, or build alongside us, your participation helps create opportunities for families to achieve the dream of homeownership.

Women Build is about more than raising walls. It is about raising possibilities, strengthening relationships, and proving what can happen when a community comes together with a common purpose.

Beloved Community Classroom Build

Building More Than a Home

This build represents what is possible when education, community, and opportunity come together.

In partnership with the Floyd D. Johnson Technology Center at York School District 1, students are doing more than learning construction skills. They are helping build a home that will become the foundation for a local York family. Through hands-on experience, they are developing workforce skills while seeing firsthand how their work can create lasting impact in the lives of others.

The future homeowners began this journey together as three generations: a grandmother, mother, and son, united by a shared vision of homeownership. Along the way, the family experienced the loss of their grandmother, making this home an even more meaningful expression of her legacy and the future they continue to build together.

This project is a reminder that homes carry stories, dreams, and generations of hope. By investing in this build, you are joining students, educators, community partners, and a determined family in creating something that will endure for years to come.

Home Repairs

Together, We Preserve Homes and Strengthen Communities.

A safe, stable home is the foundation for independence, well-being and a strong community. Through our Home Repair Program, Habitat for Humanity of York County works alongside homeowners, including seniors, veterans and neighbors with limited incomes, to address critical repair needs and help preserve the places they call home.

We recognize that maintaining a home can become challenging as circumstances change. By bringing together volunteers, community partners and supporters, we help address essential repairs that improve safety, accessibility and quality of life, allowing homeowners to remain in their homes with greater stability and peace of mind.

Through volunteer service, financial contributions and meaningful partnerships, we can help preserve existing affordable housing, support long-term homeownership and strengthen neighborhoods throughout York County.
