Hey there! My name is Eukanda Cherry. I am a single mother of one child, his name is Corinthian Bowser, and he is 9 years old. Life has been challenging over the last several years. When I started to look for a home for my family, I was approved with a few banks and the First Time Homebuyers Program with the Housing Development Corporation of Rock Hill, but the interest rates and the mortgage payments were too high for us to manage. I found myself stuck in apartments, but I was not giving up. I wanted better for my family. I heard about Habitat for Humanity and how it was a good program. When I was approved for the program I was so excited, and I must say for myself that it is a great program. Joining this program and becoming a homebuyer is the best decision I have ever made. Habitat for Humanity has prepared me so that I will be a successful homebuyer/homeowner. I am grateful and blessed that my son and I will finally be able to enjoy our blessing, our home. We deserve it! All thanks to my partnership with Habitat.

My name is Kimberly Curbeam. I am a single mother of six children, five boys and one girl: Michael is 15, Chris is 14, Jordan is 13, Taraji is 10, Johnathan is 8, and Brandon is 6. I am a full time transportation clerk at Fresenius Medical Care/ Tru Blu Logistics. I applied for Habitat for Humanity in 2018 because I wanted to provide my children with a better living space and give them the home that I never had growing up. Applying for this program has been the best decision I have made for my family. This house will mean more stability in our lives, less worrying, and a sense of peace in our family. For the kids this home will provide more space for each of them to live comfortably. My children are all very involved in school athletics and extracurricular activities, and this new home will give my children a quiet, peaceful environment to unwind from our busy lives. My kids and I love participating in Habitat’s programs, and we are looking forward to building our dream home. The memories we will have in this home makes all of the hard work that Habitat requires worth it. I am so grateful that I am able to partner with Habitat.

Hello, my name is Sasha Douglas. I was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC. I am a single mother of three children. My son is 15 years old and my two daughters are 11 years old and 8 years old. I learned about Habitat for Humanity of York County’s homebuyers program from a friend that went through the program a few years ago. I decided to partner with Habitat so I would be able to give my kids a home that will belong to them. I want them to have a yard where they can go outside to play and have their own space. My kids are very excited about being building their home and cannot wait to see the construction process begin! My goal in life is to be the best mother I can and to give my kids a great life, this partnership with Habitat is the best opportunity to do just that!
